Setting in Motion the Wheel of the Dharma
This talk draws on the Ariyapariyesana and Maha Saccaca suttas and describes how the Buddha continued his quest, and came to complete and perfect awakening under the Bodhi tree.
The scene moves to the Deer Park in Benares where the Buddha preached the doctrine of the Middle Way and the Four Noble truths to five ascetics. The ascetic Kondanna became the first to realize the Buddha’s teaching and attain to stream-entry – “Kondanna has understood!”
