Lecture 3

The Satipattana Sutra

This lecture explores the Satipatthana Sutta, which addresses establishing the heart in an open awareness. We look at how the four components are cultivated so they become central to how we conduct ourselves moment to moment. This develops trust in the Buddha’s assurance that this is “the sole way” for attaining liberation.

The text can be found in the ‘The Middle Length Discourses of the Buddha: A Translation of the Mijjhima Nikaya’ by Bhikkhu Nanamoli and Bhikkhu Bodhi

Extracts of this will be provided to enrolled students before the class.
